Milan could show his "killing instincts" and demonstrate the "Härtenachweis". He is also able to retrieve a heavy-weighted raccoon of 5,4kg.

Finally we received the results of the field trials for young dogs of Milan's offspring. We have 2 trial winners and all trial participants show very good results. We can be very proud on that litter. Here you can find some more informations: Zuchttagebuch

This year again we participated on Field Trials of the German English Setter Club at Westhausen. Although we could not take placement our Red's could presented themselves in a very good way. On judge from Switzerland was deeply impressed of Milan's excellent working style and as he presented the results of all dogs he sets Milan apart as Irish Setter with best working style from all other participating Irish Setters. This commendation of that judge shows us that it was right to believe in Milan and to work with him.

After a lot of grey and snowy days we had 3 wonderful days with beautiful sun and snow. This gave me the reason to take the photocamera with me and to shot some pictures. You can see the results of this photosessions at this album (Link)

Yesterday I was really surprised: Chili retrieved a dead fox to me. Maybe the fox was killed by a car accident. What a luck: our visitor had a camera with her.

Today we were again on a little hunting on roe dees, wild boars and foxes and our reds did again a really god job there.

Even it is not usual to use setters at huntings on roe dees, wild boars and foxes - but on this special, little hunting it was the best. Chili & Milan did really good job - the hunters were deeply impressed by their work. Also Chili retrieves a 7kg weighted fox.

The good work of my reds on the duck hunting on ice of last year is well known. So this year we get again an invitation to this special duck hunting. The job of our dogs was connected with high risks because the ice was not strong enough on some places of the little lake and the dogs has to work in very cold water. But they did it and it was a pleasure to watch them working. They had a feeling for the ice and don't go on the melted ice places. Onother dog was broken in the ice but it was possible to help him out with a boat. Sorry no translation into english but you can watch the pictures at this gallery
